Inevitable Outcomes

There are a few notable insights in A Course In Miracles by Helen Schucman, including the practice of gratitude as an entrance point to the now..

It seems that the greatest insight to be found in this book is the possibility or the recognition that dissatisfaction is impartial.

If dissatisfaction is impartial, if there are not many discontentments but only one general discontentment, then the replacement of that with a joy is a solution for enlightenment.

If there is one impartial discontentment, there can be one impartial contentment.

I have mentioned a few times this year this word enlightenment and its new relevance to me..

That word meant nothing to me before, it wasn’t of any interest or desire or goal, because it was a strange, foreign concept, like “meditation” once was.

Over the last two years, I became aware that there are many more enlightened people than is known, they don’t openly declare themselves to be.

And I would call enlightenment simply an ever-present quiet joy or quiet contentment.

One that is not so difficult to acquire.

One that countless thought systems and ideologies can point to, though being without a system or ideology.

I do not believe it requires even any spiritual awakening at all.

Rather, it is the natural birthright of a person.

Enlightenment’s access points are infinite, different points being more preferable to each individual.

And perhaps the most critical insight of all, the realization that enlightenment, if it is pursued in this lifetime, is not a possibility, but an inevitable outcome.

An inevitable outcome of fate, the result of a greater process at work.

Even beyond the hands of the individual.

There is a certainty in it.

p.s.

I am reminded of the understanding of a process in life I have recently learned.

The experience gained in the pursuit of anything results in the attainment of something, perhaps around 40% of the process.

That attainment is confidence.

Around say 40% of the process of actions taken toward a goal, a person gains the confidence that they can do the things they’ve done up to that point.

Cyclical actions taken towards the goal become easier after that point.

Before that point, there is a psychological burden with the question, “Can I do this?”

After that point, the confidence of knowing it can be done is gained and never lost.
