Being misunderstood is a very rational, impersonal fear that includes the evaluation and appreciation of value.
The ability to appreciate value is also a definition of wisdom.
Part of the fear of being misunderstood is the very rational fear of the tragedy that value will be misvalued.
That something meaningful will be said that is not understood. Not valued. Misappreciated.
Is it difficult or easy to share an understanding, or impossible?
At which point will you consider yourself an expert?
At which point will you consider yourself a teacher?
If being a teacher is egotistical, does that mean you'll never be a teacher?
If one thinks being a teacher requires perfection, and it is impossible to be perfect, does that mean you'll never be a teacher?
If it feels bad to have people question you, does that mean you will avoid ever deciding you are an expert?
Does that mean you will choose to always avoid conflict and pain?
Are there consequences to that?
One either understands something, or knows they don't understand something, or thinks they understand something but in reality understands nothing.
Who will give you the qualification? How will you know for sure?
And if you do understand something with the whole of your being, not only your intellect, but then, out of the fear of other's reactions, you decide that you are unqualified - is this not a serious offence of self-deception and lying?
Then with the understanding of understanding -
Do you have - are you developing - the understanding of the workings of understanding?
When should something be shared?
Should it be shared?
Will it be fruitful for a person?
Or poison to them?
If it exceeds where they are at, it will be poison.
If it is near to where they are, it will create wine.
Then -
Imagine if someone were to share everything they understood with no discretion at all.
With no mind to where others are at all.
With no care - less care - carelessly -
Gaining the results of care-less-ness.
Then, "Understanding is knowing where you are" -
Is assessing your current skill in -
The ability to assess how much you understand about the sharing of understanding.
This gives a sense of position to where you are.
Knowing how much you don't know about understanding gives you a "map of the territory."
-
Then there is a necessity to consider the aspects of understanding.
If, for example, understanding requires a level of trust, then trust has to be considered.
If you understand that understanding requires trust -
And you leave it out of your working model -
Simply because it is not the way people normally think -
Then there is a willful ignorance.
This brings into consideration:
How much can I trust myself?
Can I trust myself with knowledge?
Can I be care-full with knowledge and understanding?
Can I hold myself back from saying something I know I should not -
That I can feel a heaviness on dropping it on to someone -
Even though I want to?
The nature of this ( Energy Way ) model is not
Knowledge for the sake of obtaining knowledge
Or the stimulation of the intellect
Rather, it is a specific focus of information to create a map of where we are at in our understanding.
That's part of what classifies this as an "exact knowledge," (a science) in that we are not looking at the question,
"What are examples of understanding?"
Rather, we are asking:
What is the understanding of the working nature of understanding?
How can we consciously work with understanding if we do not understand the facilitation of understanding?
How would we apply this to our inner and outer lives?
Even though there are many questions here, they are shrunk down into a precise view. There is not much complexity to it. None at all.
There are few variables. Trust. Timing. Level of development. And so on.
Each can be added if we have the simple starting point.
Which may be simply this: "Can I be trusted with understanding?"
And if not, one can see what can be worked on.
Without asking that question, blindly sharing understanding would be catastrophic.
Notice how then the "fear of being misunderstood" is a valid fear to have. How much the frame changes with these questions. Suddenly, it is not a matter of "never understood" or "always understood."
Context is added, there's a direction to be carved.
We are not completely blind in the dark.
Although we may only have one eye.
"I am so blessed
That humans are so smart, so brilliant, so wise
That they have already thought of everything
In the course of solving their problems
In the course of making their lives better
In the course of thinking, "What's best for me, for my partner, for my children, for my city, for all of us?"
And all I have to do
Is to find the right answer for me
To make sense of what already exists
What already has been polished to gleaming
perfection
Imagine being the first human
You don't know what you want
You don't know who you are
You don't know how to think
You feel the full weight of reality bearing down on you
